a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Union, Me., in December, 1824. He was converted when about twelve years of age through the influence of parental instruction, and in 1850 was admitted into the East Maine Conference. In 1854-55 he located and studied at the East Maine Conference Seminary, and in 1856 re-entered the Conference and continued faithful until the close of 1863, when he enlisted as a private in- the Eighteenth Regiment of Maine Volunteers. One year later he was appointed chaplain of the regiment. .In 1865 he was readmitted into his Conference, but before reaching his first charge he died at Waldoborough, Me., July 24, 1865. Mr. Adams was a brave. Christian soldier. He was small in stature, but of a wiry constitution. His sensibilities were quick his sermons clear, forcible, and efficient.
