Send to all those of the captivity, saying, Thus says Yahweh concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, and I did not send him, and he has caused you to trust in a lie;

therefore thus says Yahweh, Look, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed; he shall not have a man to dwell among this people, neither shall he see the good that I will do to my people, says Yahweh, because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh.

All your lovers have forgotten you; they don't seek you: for I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins have increased.

Why do you cry for your hurt? your pain is incurable: for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins have increased, I have done these things to you.

For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh; because they have called you an outcast, [saying], It is Zion, whom no man seeks after.

Thus says Yahweh: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her sons; she refuses to be comforted for her sons, because they are not.

Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after I was instructed, I smote on my thigh: I was ashamed, yes, even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth.

Look, the mounds, they have come to the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence; and what you have spoken has come to pass; and, look, you see it.

because of all the evil of the sons of Israel and of the sons of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

therefore thus says Yahweh, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Look, I will bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken to them, but they haven't heard; and I have called to them, but they haven't answered.

And Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, Thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all that he commanded you;

My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is likely to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city.

For I will surely save you, and you shall not fall by the sword, but your life shall be for a prey to you; because you have put your trust in me, says Yahweh.

and Yahweh has brought it, and done according to as he spoke: because you have sinned against Yahweh, and haven't obeyed his voice, therefore this thing has come on you.

because of the Chaldeans; for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor over the land.

because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense to serve other gods, that they did not know, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.

so that Yahweh could not longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the disgusting things that you have done; therefore your land has become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.

Because you have burned incense, and because you have sinned against Yahweh, and haven't obeyed the voice of Yahweh, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened to you, as it is this day.

Why has Apis fled? Your bull did not stay, because Yahweh drove him out.

They shall cut down her forest, says Yahweh, though it can't be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.
