Woe is me because of my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is [my] grief, and I must bear it.

Therefore don't pray for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry to me because of their trouble.

For Yahweh of hosts, who planted you, has pronounced evil against you, because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have wrought for themselves in provoking me to anger by offering incense to Baal.

How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole country wither? for the wickedness of those that dwell therein, the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our latter end.

They have made it a desolation; it mourns to me, being desolate; the whole land is made desolate, because no man lays it to heart.

They have sown wheat, and have reaped thorns; they have tired themselves out, and profit nothing. And be ashamed of your fruits, because of the fierce anger of Yahweh.

But if you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret for [your] pride; and my eye shall weep intensely, and run down with tears, because Yahweh's flock is taken captive.

This is your lot, the portion measured to you from me, says Yahweh; because you have forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.

Because of the ground which is cracked, for no rain has been in the land, the plowmen are put to shame, they cover their heads.

Yes, the hind also in the field calves, and forsakes [her young], because there is no grass.

And the wild donkeys stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage.

And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them-them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness on them.

And I will cause them to be tossed to and fro among all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.

I did not sit in the assembly of those that make merry, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of your hand; for you have filled me with indignation.

Then you shall say to them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, says Yahweh, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshiped them, and have forsaken me, and haven't kept my law;

And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their disgusting things.

O Yahweh, the hope of Israel, all that forsake you shall be put to shame. Those that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Yahweh, the fountain of living waters.

Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it to other gods, that they didn't know, they and their fathers and the kings of Judah; and have filled this place with innocent blood,

And I will make this city an astonishment, and a hissing; every one that passes thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.

Thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, Look, I will bring on this city and on all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it; because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.
