"Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, behold, I am bringing upon this city and upon all its towns all the disaster that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their neck, refusing to hear my words."

Do you think you are a king because you compete in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.

For the land is full of adulterers; because of the curse the land mourns, and the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right.

But if you say, ‘The burden of the Lord ,' thus says the Lord , ‘Because you have said these words, "The burden of the Lord ," when I sent to you, saying, "You shall not say, ‘The burden of the Lord ,'"

"Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: Because you have not obeyed my words,

They shall drink and stagger and be crazed because of the sword that I am sending among them."

"Then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Drink, be drunk and vomit, fall and rise no more, because of the sword that I am sending among you.'

and the peaceful folds are devastated because of the fierce anger of the Lord .

Like a lion he has left his lair, for their land has become a waste because of the sword of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger."

It may be they will listen, and every one turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the disaster that I intend to do to them because of their evil deeds.

Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and to all the people, "This man deserves the sentence of death, because he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your own ears."

Therefore thus says the Lord : ‘Behold, I will remove you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have uttered rebellion against the Lord .'"

"Because you have said, ‘The Lord has raised up prophets for us in Babylon,'

because they did not pay attention to my words, declares the Lord , that I persistently sent to you by my servants the prophets, but you would not listen, declares the Lord .'

Because of them this curse shall be used by all the exiles from Judah in Babylon: "The Lord make you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire,"
