Because the palace has been abandoned, the populated city forsaken.Hill and watchtower have become caves forever,A joy for wild donkeys, a pasture for flocks,

And Isaiah said to them, "Thus you shall say to your master, ‘Thus says Yahweh, "Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard, with which the young men of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent word to Hezekiah, saying, "Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘Because you have prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria,

Because of your raging against MeAnd because your presumptuousness has come up to My ears,Therefore I will put My hook in your noseAnd My bridle in your lips,And I will turn you back by the way which you came.

"What shall I say?Indeed, He has spoken to me, and He Himself has done it;I will wander about all my years because of the bitterness of my soul.

Lift up your eyes on highAnd see who has created these stars,The One who leads forth their host by number,He calls them all by name;Because of the greatness of His vigor and the strength of His power,Not one of them is missing.

The beasts of the field will glorify Me,The jackals and the ostriches,Because I have given waters in the wildernessAnd rivers in the wasteland,To give drink to My chosen people.

Because I know that you are stiff,And your neck is an iron sinewAnd your forehead bronze,

Thus says Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel and its Holy One,To the despised One,To the One abhorred by the nation,To the Servant of rulers,"Kings will see and arise,Princes will also bow down,Because of Yahweh who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You."

That you have forgotten Yahweh your Maker,Who stretched out the heavensAnd laid the foundations of the earth,That you tremble in dread continually all day long because of the wrath of the one who brings distress,As he makes ready to bring ruin?But where is the wrath of the one who brings distress?

So His grave was assigned with wicked men,Yet He was with a rich man in His death,Because He had done no violence,Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

Therefore, I will divide for Him a portion with the many,And He will divide the spoil with the strong;Because He poured out His soul to death,And was numbered with the transgressors;Yet He Himself bore the sin of many,And interceded for the transgressors.

If anyone fiercely attacks you it will not be from Me.Whoever attacks you will fall because of you.

Behold, you will call a nation you do not know,And a nation which knows you not will run to you,Because of Yahweh your God, even the Holy One of Israel;For He has adorned you with beautiful glory."

Because of the iniquity of his greedy gain I was angry and struck him;I hid My face and was angry,And he went on turning away, in the way of his heart.

"If because of the sabbath, you turn your footFrom doing your own desire on My holy day,And call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of Yahweh honorable,And honor it, by not doing your own ways,By not finding your own desireAnd speaking your own word,

Then you will see and be radiant,And your heart will tremble and be large with joy;Because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you,The wealth of the nations will come to you.

Surely the coastlands will hope in Me;And the ships of Tarshish will come first,To bring your sons from afar,Their silver and their gold with them,For the name of Yahweh your God,And for the Holy One of Israel because He has adorned you with beautiful glory.

Both their own iniquities and the iniquities of their fathers together," says Yahweh."Because they have burned incense on the mountainsAnd reproached Me on the hills,Therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom."

I will destine you for the sword,And all of you will bow down to the slaughter,Because I called, but you did not answer;I spoke, but you did not hear.And you did what was evil in My eyesAnd chose that in which I was not pleased."
