מָחַץ
(1) to agitate, to shake, e.g. the foot in bood. Psalms 68:24; Numbers 24:8, וְחִצָּיו יִמְחַץ “and he shaketh his arrows,” sc. in blood; compare Ps. loc. cit. (Arab. مخض to agitate, e.g. water in a bucket, see Alb. Schult. De Defectibus Ling. Hebr., p. 75. Origg. Hebr., t. i. p. 100).
(2) to shake, to smite, as any one’s head, Psalms 68:22, 110:6 the loins, Deuteron. 33:11. Figuratively, Job 26:12, “by his wisdom he smiteth its (the sea’s) pride,” i.e. he restrains its proud waves. Hence
