Qal Perfect 3 plural אָֽצְרוּ 2 Kings 20:17; Isaiah 39:6; Participle הָאֹצְרִים Amos 3:10; — store up) treasure 2 Kings 20:17 = Isaiah 39:6; object חָמָס וָשֹׁד Amos 3:10, i.e. treasure gained by violence robbery.

Niph`al Imperfect יֵאָצֵר be stored up, of the merchandise of Tyre Isaiah 23:18.

Hiph`il Imperfect וָאוֺצְרָה (compare Kö i, 391) ( denominative from אוֺצָר) Nehemiah 13:13 and I appointed treasurer, followed by accusative of person + עַלאֿוֺצָרוֺת.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

אָצַר to lay up, to store, to heap up, to treasure up. (The primary idea is that of shutting up, enclosing, restraining; compare the cognate roots חָצַר, עָצַר, also אָזַר, אָסַר and Arab. أَصَرَ to shut up, to restrain, kindred to which are اسر and حصر.) 2 Kings 20:17; Isaiah 39:6; Amos 3:10.

Niphal, pass. Isaiah 23:18.

Hiphil, to cause to lay up in a treasury, i.e. to set any one over a treasury; Nehemiah 13:13, וָאוֹצְרָה עַל אוֹצָרוֹת “and I made treasurers over the treasuries.”

Hence are derived אוֹצָר and
