Qal Perfect וְנָהַמְתָּ֫ Proverbs 5:11; וּנְהַמְתֶּם Ezekiel 24:23; Imperfect יִנְהֹם Isaiah 5:29,30;

Participleנֹהֵם Proverbs 28:15; —

1 growl, of a lion (namely while it is devouring its prey: opposed to שׁאנ, of roar with which it springs upon it RS Proph. 243) Proverbs 28:15, of Assyr. (under figure of lion) Isaiah 5:29; followed by עַל ( over), Isaiah 5:30.

2 groan, of sufferer Proverbs 5:11; Ezekiel 24:23.

נָהַם fut. יִנְהֹם

(1)  to growl (knurren, brummen); the word used to express the noise uttered by the young lion (כְּפִיר), (Proverbs 19:12, 20:2 ); to be distinguished from roaring (שָׁאַג), although this word is also applied to a full-grown lion, Proverbs 28:15 (This root is onomatop. Arab. and Syr. id.; see under הָמָה ; and also compare נָאַם). It is applied to the roaring of the sea, Isaiah 5:30 to the voices of persons groaning (compare הָמָה), Ezekiel 24:23; Proverbs 5:11. Hence
