 [מְרֵרָה] noun feminine gall; only suffix יִשְׁמֹּךְ לָאָרֶץמְרֵרָתִי Job 16:13 he poureth on the ground my gall ("" יְפַלַּח כִּלְיוֺתַי), figurative of God's cruel treatment (compare מְרֹרָה Job 20:25).

מְרֵרָה f. bile, gall, so called from its flowing (see מָרַר No. 1 ), compare Germ. Galle, which properly signifies a fountain, like the cogn. Duelle, Job 16:13. Arab. مِرَّةُ, مَرَاَرَةُ [Syr. ܡܪܳܪܐܳ, ܡܶܪܬܐܳ id.]
