Combined these mean "continue outside". The shepherd would guide his flock to a place of water. Here is water for drinking as well as green grass for pasturing. Once the flock arrives, they are free to rest after the long journey. A guided journey to a place of rest. A sigh of rest. (eng: night - from the German nocht, as the time of rest)

Brown-Driver-Briggs Expanded Definition
 אֲנוּ Jeremiah 42:6 Kt: see after אֲנִי.

אֲנוּ pronoun 1 plural common we (common in Post-Biblical Hebrew; compare also Amharic §ñ¹) may be regarded as the plural of אֲנִי (W SG 99), only Jeremiah 42:6 Kt, for which Qr substitutes the normal אֲנַחְנוּ.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

אֲנוּ we, i.q. אֲנַחְנוּ in one passage, Jeremiah 42:6 בתיב. This less frequent form (which is also used in the Rabbinic) is from אֲנִי, like אֲנַחְנוּ, from אָנֹכִי; and from this are abridged the suffixes נוּ, ־ָנוּ, ־ֵנוּ. In קרי indeed, there occurs the common אנחנו, but I have no doubt that אנו is genuine.
