דֳּכִי from דָּבָה m. crushing, dashing (of waves), hence roaring noise; Psalms 93:3, יִשְׂאוּ נְהָרוֹת דָּכְיָם “the floods lift up their roaring.” (Arab. دكا to beat, to thrust, VI. to dash together; compare داك VI. to press on one another in the tumult of battle; دُوكَةُ tumult, conflict.)
