II. דַּכָּא noun [masculine] dust (as pulverized), תָּשֵׁב אֱנוֺשׁ עַדדַּֿכָּא Psalm 90:3 (on form compare Ba NB 143).
דַּכָּא adj. [pl. const. דַּכְּאֵי], intensive from the root דָּכָא (of the form קַטָּל)
(1) very much crushed, broken very small, hence as a subst. that which is very small, poet. for dust. (Arab. دَكَّاءُ dust [rejected in Thes.].) Psalms 90:3, תָּשֵׁב אֱנוֹשׁ עַד־דַּכָּא “thou turnest man to dust.”
(2) broken in spirit, cast down, Isaiah 57:15; Psalms 34:19.
