אָרֵךְ only found in const. אֶרֶךְ adj.

(1) long; Ezekiel 17:3, אֶרֶךְ הָאֵבֶר “(an eagle) with long feathers, long-feathered.”

(2) slow, in the phrases אֶרֶךְ רוּחַ Ecclesiastes 7:8, and אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם “slow to anger,” μακρόθυμος, Proverbs 15:18, 16:32 Exodus 34:6; Numbers 14:18 comp. Syriac ܢܰܓܺܝܪܳܐ ܕܪܘܽܚܳܐ patient, Arab. ذو طول long, i.e. long-suffering. Once אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם is τὸ μακρόθυμον, patience, long-suffering, Jeremiah 15:15. Opposed to קְצַר רוּחַ.
