רחה (√ of following; meaning unknown; Late Hebrew = Biblical Hebrew; Arabic handmill (compare Wetzst Siebe, ZPV xiv (1891), 4); Aramaic רִיחְיָא, ; Lag BN 157 Ba NB 9,21).
מֶרְחָב m. (from the root רָחַב), broad space, Habakkuk 1:6. Often metaph. used of liberty and welfare (opp. to distresses, צַר; compare יָשַׁע); Psalms 18:20, וַיּוֹצִיאֵנִי לַמֶּרְחֶב “and he brought me out into a wide space,” i.e. he delivered me from distresses, Psalms 31:9, 118:5. Once used in a bad sense, Hosea 4:16, כְּכֶבֶשׂ בַּמֶּרְחָב “like a lamb in a wide space,” where it might easily wander from the flock.
