1 dwelling-place: מִשְׁכַּןקֹֿרַח דָּתָן וַאֲבִירָם; Numbers 16:24,27 (P) [but here originally ׳מִשְׁכַּן י; see Commentaries]; in poetry = tomb, Isaiah 22:16.

מִשְׁכָּן m. (from the root שָׁכַז pl. ־ִים Psalms 46:5 more often in ־וֹת construed with a fem. Psalms 84:2)
(1) habitation, dwelling place, as of men, Job 18:21; Psalms 87:2. (once used of the long home, the sepulchre, Isaiah 22:16 compare 14:18, and my note on the passage); of animals, i.e. den, Job 39:6 of God, i.e. temple, Psalms 46:5, 84:2 132:5.
(2) specially a tent, a tabernacle, Song of Solomon 1:8, especially the holy tabernacle of the Israelites, Exodus 25:9, 26:1, seq.; 40:9, seq.; fully מִשְׁכַּן הָעֵדוּת “the tabernacle of the testimony,” Exodus 38:21; Numbers 1:50, 53 10:11. In the description of this tent, as to the difference of מִשְׁכָּן from אֹהֶל see above at that word, p. 17, A hence מִשְׁכַּז אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד of the boards of the holy tent, over which the curtains were hung, Exodus 39:32, 40:2, Exodus 40:6, 29 Exodus 40:29.
