The use of this subst. in Matthew 8:20 = ";lodging-place,"; ";roost,"; is well illustrated by OGIS 229.57 (iii/B.C.) where in an agreement between the inhabitants of Smyrna and of Magnesia, the former undertake to provide κατασκήνωσιν, ";shelter,"; for those who are about to migrate to Smyrna, in order that they may have a place to live in while they are building new houses for themselves
