1 to-morrow (the day following the present day),

(1)  to-morrow. (Syriac ܡܚܪܳ.) Judges 20:28; 1 Samuel 20:5; Isaiah 22:13. יוֹם מָחָר to-morrow (subst.), Isaiah 56:12; Proverbs 27:1. לְמָחָר for to-morrow, Numbers 11:18; Esther 5:12 also, to-morrow (on the day), Exodus 8:6, 19 (comp. ἐς αὔριον, auf morgen). כָּעֵת מָחָר to-morrow about this time (see under the word עֵת ); more fully מָחָר כָּעֵת הַזּאֹת Joshua 11:6. כָּעֵת מָחָר הַשְּׁלִישִׁית about this time, to-morrow, (or) the third day, 1 Samuel 20:12, where it is well rendered by Vulg., Chald. (Some incorrectly join closely מָחָר הַשְּׁלִישִׁית as if it were crastinus tertius, i.q. the day after to-morrow.)

(2) afterwards, in future time, Exodus 13:14; Joshua 4:6, 21 Joshua 4:21. בְּיוֹם מָחָר id. Genesis 30:33 compare מָחֳרָת. [In Thes. this word is supposed to be closely connected with the root אָחַר, see page 784.]
