Qal Infinitive קְצוֺת עַמִּים Habakkuk 2:10 cutting off many peoples; Vrss קַצּוֺת (√ קצץ); Gr Now conjecture הֲצִיקוֺתָ.
Pi`el Infinitive construct לִקַצּוֺת בְּ 2 Kings 10:32 to cut off in Israel; read probably לִקְצוֺף to be angry with, ᵑ7 Hi Che Crit. n. Isaiah 14:6 (in Commentaries) Kmp Kau Kit Benz, ᵑ9; Gr לָקוּץ; Participle מְקַצֶּח רַגְלַיִם Proverbs 26:6 (figurative).
Hiph`il Perfect 3 plural הִקְצוּ Leviticus 14:41, accusative dust; Infinitive construct הִקְצוֺת Leviticus 14:43, accusative house, in both apparently = קָצַע scrape, scrape off (q. v., Leviticus 14:41 a), and so probably read, namely הִקְצְעוּ, הַקְצִיעַ, RS JPhil. xvi (1888), 72 Dr-Wh Di-Ry Baen.
קָצָה
(1) i.q. קָצַץ to cut off, to cut down (see under קָצַב ); hence to destroy (peoples), Habakkuk 2:10. (Arab. قضى Conj. II, id.)
(2) to decide; Arab. قضى, whence קָצִין a judge.
(3) to finish, whence קְצָת end.
Piel, i.q. Kal No. 1. Proverbs 26:6, מְקַצֶּח רַגְלַיִם “who cutteth off feet,” i.e. whose feet are cut off. (I thus translate the entire verse: “he whose feet are cut off drinketh (suffereth) injury, (so) he who sends words by the hands of a fool,” i.e. uses a fool as a messenger.) 2 Kings 10:32, “Jehovah began לְקַצּוֹת בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל to cut short in Israel,” i.e. to take away one part after another.
