מִלָּה f. pl. ־ִים and ־ִין (from the root מָלַל).

(1) word, speech, i.q. דָּבָר, a word of frequent use in the Aramean (Syr. ܡܶܠܬܐܳ; in the Old Test. only used in poetry, and, besides Proverbs 23:9; Psalms 19:5, 139:4 2 Samuel 23:2, only found in the book of Job, 6:26 8:10 13:17 23:5 32:15 36:2. Figuratively, the object of discourse; specially, in derision; Job 30:9, וָאֱהִי לָהֶם לְמִלָּה.

(2) a thing, like דָּבָר, Job 32:11.

מִלָּה f. Chald., emphat. st. מִלְּתָא; pl. מִלִּין.
