אַשְׁמָה f.
(1) prop. Infin. of the verb אָשַׁם, like אַהֲבָה, ·יִרְאָה Lev. 5:26, מִכֹּל אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂה לְאַשְׁמָה בָהּ “of all that he hath done in trespassing therein.” Leviticus 4:3, אֲשְׁמַת הָעָם “like as the people contract guilt.”
(2) fault, guilt, 1 Chronicles 21:3; 2 Chronicles 24:18, 28:13 Amos 8:14, אַשְׁמַת שֹׁמְרוֹן “the guilt of Samaria,” for its idols. Pl. אֲשָׁמוֹת 2 Chronicles 28:10; Psalms 69:6.
