שׂוּר fut. וַיָּשַׂר i.q. שָׂרָה, שָׂרַר (which see).

(1) to contend, Hosea 12:5.

(2) to hold dominion, Judges 9:22.

Hiphil הֵשִׂיר to constitute princes, Hosea 8:4.
