 קַוְקָו (or קַוְקַו, קָוְקָו)

noun [masculine] might (?); — so read (according to most) for קַוקָֿו in phrase ׳גּוֺי ק Isaiah 18:2,7i.e. a mighty nation (compare Arabic strength; see (on reduplication) Ges§ 123 e); > RV ' meting out conquered lands, literally 'of line, line' (11. קַו).

I. [קוּר] verb bore, dig (Arabic () cut a round hole in, scoop out); —

Qal Perfect 1 singular קַרְתִּי 2 Kings 19:24 I have dug (that Isaiah , a well)= Isaiah 37:25 (Meinh conjectures כָּרִתִי). —

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

קוּר to dig, especially a well, Isaiah 37:25. (Arab. قار Med. Waw, to cut out from amongst. Kindred are כּוּר which see, נָקַר.) Derivatives, מָקוֹר [קוּדִים, קוֹרָה, קִיר, קַרְקֹר].

Hiphil, to cause to flow forth (water), Jerem. 6:7.

Pilpel קִרְקֵר to dig under, to undermine a wall (so the Chald.). Isaiah 22:5, by a play of words, מְקַרְקַר קִר “they undermine a wall” (Talmud. קרקורא דקיר destruction of a wall). Hence to destroy. Numbers 24:17, וְקַרְקַר כָּל־בְּנֵי־שֵׁת “and will destroy all the children of pride.” LXX. προνομεύσει. Vulg. vastabit.
