קָדְקֹד m. with suff. קָדְקֳדוֹ Job 2:7, and קָדְקְדוֹ Psalms 7:17 (where, however, other copies have קָדְקֳדוֹ), the top of the head (so called from the hair being there divided and separated; compare Germ. Scheitel, die Haare fcheiteln; root קָדַד No. 1), Genesis 49:26; Deuteronomy 33:16 fully קָדְקֹד שֵׂעָר the hairy crown of the head, Psalms 68:22. Arab. مُقَدُّ part of the head, from the crown to the neck.
