 [נָכֹחַ] adjective and substantive straight, right, straightness, feminine נְכֹחָה, plural נְכֹחִים, וֺת-: — Isaiah 57:2 הֹלֵךְ נְכֹחוֺ he that walks in (compare Isaiah 33:15; Isaiah 50:10) his straightness (Ges 'der seinen geraden Weg geht'), figurative for straightforwardly (compare Proverbs 4:25); נְכֹחָה what is straight in front, figurative straightforwardness, honesty, Amos 3:10 ׳לֹא יָָֽדְעוּ עֲשׂוֺת נ, Isaiah 59:14 לֹא תוּכַל לָבוֺא׳ונ ("" אֱמֶת); 2 Samuel 15:3 דבריךטובים וּנְכֹחִים thy pleadings are good and right (i.e. TRUE), Proverbs 8:9 (of words of Wisdom) כֻּלָּם נְכֹחִיםלַמֵּבִין i.e. they lead straight to the right goal ("" ישׁרים; compare Proverbs 8:8b אֵין בָּהֶם נִפָתָּל וְעִקֵּשׁ), Proverbs 24:26 מֵשִׁיב דְּבָרִים נְכֹחִים i.e. either correct (leading to the right point), or honest answers; Isaiah 30:10 לֹאתֶֿחֱזוּ לָנוּ נְכֹחוֺת TRUE things (opposed to חֲלָקוֺת, מַהֲתַלּוֺת illusions), Isaiah 26:10 בְּאֶרֶץ נְכֹחוֺת יְעַוֵּל in a land of rectitude (Che) he will do wickedly.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

נָכֹחַ adj. straight, right, pr. used of a way going straight on (Germ. gerade aus). Isaiah 57:2, הֹלֵךְ נְכֹחוֹ “he who walks in a straight way” (der gerade aus geht), i.e. an upright man; hence metaph. upright, just, Proverbs 8:9. Fem. נְכֹחָה “that which is just and proper.” Amos 3:10; Isaiah 59:14 plur. נְכֹחוֹת id. Isaiah 26:10, 30:10.
