מַרְעִית fem. (from the root רָעָה)

(1)  pasture, pasturing. צאֹן מַרְעִיתִי “the sheep which I tend,” Jeremiah 23:1; Psalms 74:1, 79:13 100:3. עַם מַרְעִיתוֹ “the people that he (God) tends,” Psalms 95:7.

(2) a flock, Jeremiah 10:21.
