lit., "to stand over" (epi, "over," histemi, "to stand"), signifies "to assault;" said in Acts 17:5 , of those who attacked the house of Jason. For its usual meanings see COME (in, to, upon), HAND (at), INSTANT , PRESENT , STAND.

(Strong's #3730 — Noun Feminine — horme — hor-may' )
