בַּז with suff. בִּזָּהּ m. prey, spoil. It is used of persons and cattle carried away in war (elsewhere שְׁבִי, מַלְקֹחַ), also of wealth taken from an enemy, Numbers 14:3; Jeremiah 15:13, 49:32. בָּזַז בַּז see בָּזַז. Of frequent use are the phrases הָיָה לָבַז to become a prey, to be carried away as a prey, Numbers 14:31; Deuteronomy 1:39; Isaiah 42:22 sometimes with the addition of a dative, Ezekiel 26:5, 34:28 נָתַן לָבַז to give for a prey, Jeremiah 17:3; Ezekiel 25:7 קרי.
