(b) a warlike cry, cry for battle, Amos 1:14; Jeremiah 4:19, 49:2, תְּרועָה הֵרִיעַ to raise a war-cry, Joshua 6:5, 20 Joshua 6:20.
(2) the sound of a trumpet, Leviticus 25:9. יוֹם תְּרוּעָה the first of the seventh month (afterwards the first), which was announced with sound of trumpet, Leviticus 23:24 -Numbers 29:16. זִבְחֵי תְרוּעָה sacrifices offered with sound of trumpet, Psalms 27:6, compare Numbers 10:10; Psalms 89:16.
