Qal Perfect 3 masculine singular ׳נ Lamentations 3:28; Imperfect 3 masculine singular יִטּוֺל Isaiah 40:15; Participle active נוֺטֵל 2 Samuel 24:12; — lift, with accusative Isaiah 40:15 (figurative subject ׳י); lift over thee (על) i.e. offer 2 Samuel 24:12, but read נוֺטֶה (as "" 1 Chronicles 21:10) We Bu HPS; lift (and lay) upon (עַל) Lamentations 3:28.
Pi`el Imperfect suffix וַיְנַטְּלֵם Isaiah 63:9 and he bare them, figurative of ׳י bearing his people ("" וַיְגַשֵּׁאֵם).

נָטַל fut. יִטֹּל
(1) to take up, to lift. (Syr. ܢܛܰܠ to be heavy, from the idea of carrying. Cogn. roots are תָּלַל, תָּלָה, τλάω, τλῆμι, tollo, and those which are formed from them, as tolero.) Isaiah 40:15, כַּדַּק יִטּוֹל “as a particle of dust (which any one) takes up.” [“He takes up the isles as dust.” Thes.]
(2) Followed by עַל to lay upon some one. 2 Samuel 24:12, שָׁלשׁ אָנֹכִי נוֹטֵל עָלֶיךָ “I lay upon thee three things;” (in the parallel place, 1 Chronicles 21:10, there is נוֹטֶה. In the same sense is said נָתַן לִפְנֵי Jerem. 21:8 ). Lamentations 3:28, כִּי נָטַלּ לֳָיו “because (God) has laid upon him the load of calamity.”
