Qal Perfect וְנָהָה Micah 2:4 lament followed by accusative of congnate meaning with verb; Imperative נְהֵה Ezekiel 32:18, followed byעַל concerning, for.
Niph`al Imperfect וַיִּנָּהוּ 1 Samuel 7:2 followed byאַהֲרִי went mourning after (so most, compare Th Dr, who argue against Thes were gathered), < read ויפנ(הׅ, וַיִּפְנוּ turned after = submitted to (as Ezekiel 29:16) ᵐ5 (perhaps), We Kit Bu HPS.
נָהָה to wail, to lament (prop. to cry out הָהּ, אֲהָהּ), Ezekiel 32:18. Micah 2:4, נָהָה נְהִי נִהְיָה “they lament with a lamentation of lamenting;” i.e. they lament grievously.
(2) to cry out, to exclaim. Hence
Niphal, to gather selves together; like the Chaldee אִתְנְהִי; prop. to be convoked, called together; comp. זָעַק Niph. to be congregated. 1 Samuel 7:2, “all the house of Israel was gathered together after Jehovah;” a pregnant construction for, all of them were united and followed Jehovah with one mind; compare הָלַךְ אַחֲרֵי יְיָ, מִלֵּא אַחֲרֵי יְיָ. So Targ. h. l.; compare the same phrase, Jerem. 30:21 Hosea 2:16, 3:3,, Targ. Others render, lamented after Jehovah; i.e. followed him mourning.
