Qal Perfect נַפְשִׁי׳כ Psalm 57:7 my soul is bowed down; Infinitive construct (transitive) לָכֹף כְּאַגְמֹן ראֹשׁוֺ Isaiah 58:5 to bend down, like a rush, his head. Passive participle (הַ)כְּפוּפִים those bowed down, in distress, humiliation, etc., Psalm 145:14; Psalm 146:8.

(This stock is widely extended, together with its cognates, in the Phœnicio-Shemitic and western languages, both in the signification of bending, and also in the kindred one of being hollow, or arched; see the roots כָּפָה ; גָּבַב No. 1. כַּו hollow, and קָבַב, قبَّ to hollow, to vault; יָקַב to dig out; נָקַב to bore out; and compare the Gr. κάμπω, κάμπτο, γνάμπτω, also κύπτω, κύβη, κύμβη, Lacon. κύββα, cask; Persian كفتن to bend over, كو hollow, a cavern; Lat. cubo, cumbo, also cavus; old Germ. Gaff=כַּף kippen, um kippen, in the sense of folding.) Isaiah 58:5 Intrans. to bend oneself, Psalms 57:7. Part. כְּפוּפִים those who are bowed down, Psalms 145:14, 146:8.
