Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

חָרַר (1)  to burn. (Arab. حَرَّ to be warm, to glow; Eth. ሐረረ፡ to be hot. The signification of burning is found in the stock חר, comp. חָרָה, חָרַךְ, חָרַל, حرق, Lat. areo, uro, and Germ. har, hhr, fire; Heerd, harften, to roast. The primary idea is that of the shrivelled roughness of things that are dried or scorched; compare חָרַס, חָרַב). Used of hot metal, Ezekiel 24:11 of bones which have been dried up with heat, Job 30:30 of men destroyed by heat, Isaiah 24:6.

(2) i.q. Arab. حَرَّ for حَرِرَ born of a noble race, to be free, to be freeborn, whence حُرُّ, Heb. חֹר, חוֹר noble, freeborn, Syr. ܚܰܪܶܪ to set at liberty, ܚܺܙܪܐܳ free, freeborn. The primary idea appears to be that of the brightness and purity of a man obscured by no stain.

Niphal נָחַר, and נִחַר (Psalms 69:4, 102:4, of the form נִחַל from חָלַל and נִחַת from חָתַת) fut. יֵחַר (Ezekiel 15:5), to be burned up, Jeremiah 6:29; Ezekiel 15:5, 24:10 to be dried, Psalms 69:4. [Also trop. to burn with anger, Song of Solomon 1:6, נִחֲרוּ בִי. See Thes. In Man. from חָרָה.]

Pilpel inf. חַרְחַר to kindle (contention), Proverbs 26:21.
