Thayer's Expanded Definition

ἀτιμάω, ἀτίμω: (1 aorist ἠτίμησα; (τιμή); to deprive of honor, despise, treat with contempt or contumely: τινα, Mark 12:4 L Tr text ἠτιμησαν (see ἀτιμάζω and ἀτιμόω). (In Greek writings (chiefly Epic) from Homer down.)

In a fragmentary Decree of the Senate and People, Roberts-Gardner p. 69 ff., prescribing the conditions upon which Selymbria, after its capture in B.C. 409–8 by Alcibiades, was restored to the Athenian alliance, provision is made that disfranchised persons should be restored to their privileges—.10 εἴ τις ἠτίμωτ [ο , ἔντιμον εἶναι ]. Cf. Mark 12:4 AC.
