Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

צָעַק i.q. זָעַק (which see; compare צָחַק and שָׂחַק ) to cry out, especially for aid, Deuteron. 22:24, 27 Deuteronomy 22:27 followed by אֶל of pers. Genesis 41:55; Judges 4:3 followed by לְ 2 Chronicles 13:14 also an acc. of the thing, Job 19:7, אֶצְעַק חָמָס “I cry out of wrong,” sc. as done to me.

Piel, to cry out, 2 Kings 2:12.

Hiphil, to call together, like הִזְעִיק 1 Samuel 10:17.

Niphal, pass. of Hiph. to be called together, to run together, Judges 7:23, 24 Judges 7:24, 10:17. Hence
