אֲדָמָה f.
(1) earth (perh. so called from being red, or tawnyish [“see Credner on Joel, p. 125, seq.” Ges. add.]), Exodus 20:21 used of dust which mourners put upon their heads, 1 Samuel 4:12; 2 Samuel 15:32.
(2) the ground which is tilled, field, land, Genesis 4:2, 47:19, 22 Genesis 47:22, 23 Genesis 47:23; Psalms 105:35; Isaiah 28:24 אֲדָמָה אֹהֵב “one who loves the ground,” i.e. agriculture, 2 Chronicles 26:10 used of the produce of the ground, Isaiah 1:7.
