בְּדִיל m.
(1) stannum, i.e. plumbum nigrum, alloy found in ore mixed with silver, which is separated from it by means of fire. Germ. Werk. Plin. N. H. xxxiv. 16; Isaiah 1:25, אָסִירָה כָּל־בְּדִילַיִךְ “I will take away all thy alloy,” i.e. spurious and impure parts of metal.
