תַּחְתִּי m. ־ִיָּה and ־ִית f. adj. lower, lowest, Psalms 86:13; Job 41:16; Genesis 6:16. תַּחְתִּיּוֹת־אֶרֶץ the lower, lowest parts of the earth, Hades, Isaiah 44:23 poet. used of a hidden place (here of the womb of the mother [but it is the formation of the members of Christ’s mystical body]), Psalms 139:15 the same is אֶרֶץ־תַּחְתִּיּוֹת Ezekiel 26:20, 32:18, 24 Ezekiel 32:24, compare בּוֹר תַּחְתִּיּוֹת the deepest pit, Psalms 81:7; Lamentations 3:55.
