שָׁתַק fut. יִשְׁתֹּק to subside, to settle down; hence to be hushed, silent (kindred to שָׁקַט, סָכַת), used of the waves, Psalms 107:30; Jonah 1:11, 12 Jonah 1:12 used of strife, Proverbs 26:20.
