שָׂטָה fut. apoc. יֵשְׂטְ to decline, to turn aside. (Aram. סְטָא, ܣܝܛܳܐ id.) Followed by מֵעַל דֶּרֶךְ from the way, Proverbs 4:15 אֶל דַּרְכֵי פ׳ 7:25. Specially used of adulterous wives, Numbers 5:23 with the addition of תַּחַת הָאִישׁ 5:19, 20, 29. Compare זָנָה No. 1.
