noun masculine owner, lord (Syriac , used similarly; compare Biblical Hebrew בַּ֫עַל, √ בָּעַל; also ᵑ7בְּעֵיל); — construct מְֿעֵם׳בּ Ezra 4:8,9,17i.e. commander (Andr M 56* as translation of Persian fram¹t¹r, commander).
בְּעֵל Chald. i.q. Hebr. בַּעַל lord, master. As to בְּעֵל טְעֵם see טְעֵם. From this form is contracted בֵּל which see.
