cover or veil completely, σὺν δὲ νεφέεσσι κάλυψε γαῖαν Od. 5.293; ς. τι χρόνῳ E. Ph. 872, cf. Pl. R. 452d; τὴν ἀλήθειαν Olymp.Alch. p.70 B.; συγκαλύψαντές μου τὴν κεφαλήν BGU 1816.19 (i B.C.); ὁ συγκεκαλυμμένος πατήρ, with reference to a well-known fallacy (cf. ἐγκαλύπτω 1 ), Epicur. Nat. 9; ἐξάγει συγκεκαλυμμένην muffled up, Plu. Numbers 10:1-36, cf. LXX Su. 39: — Med., aor. συγκαλύψασθαι, wrap oneself up, cover one's face, X. Cyr. 8.7.28, Smp. 1.14; -ψασθαι τὴν κεφαλήν IG 42(1).126.6 (Epid., ii A.D. ).
