So they gave - the Israelites a bad report ... ... about the land - they had spied out: - "The land - we explored ... ... - - devours its inhabitants, ... and all the people - we saw there vvv are great in stature.

So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out saying The land through which we have gone to spy it out is a land that devours its inhabitants and all the people that we saw in it are of great height
Holman Christian Standard Version
So they gave a negative report to the Israelites about the land they had scouted: "The land we passed through to explore is one that devours its inhabitants, and all the people we saw in it are men of great size.
King James Version
And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying (8800), The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
