Berean Study Bible
It will break in pieces like a potter''s jar, shattered so that no fragment ... can be found. Not a shard will be found in the dust large enough to scoop the coals from a hearth or to skim the water from a cistern."
English Standard Version
and its breaking is like that of a potter's vessel that is smashed so ruthlessly that among its fragments not a shard is found with which to take fire from the hearth or to dip up water out of the cistern
Holman Christian Standard Version
Its collapse will be like the shattering of a potter's jar, crushed to pieces, so that not even a fragment of pottery will be found among its shattered remains no fragment large enough to take fire from a hearth or scoop water from a cistern."
King James Version
And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters (8802)' vessel that is broken in pieces (8800); he shall not spare (8799): so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth (8803), or to take water withal out of the pit.
Lexham English Bible
And he breaks it like a vessel of a potter⌋that is crushed; he has no compassion, and no potsherd is found among its fragments to take fire⌋the hearth, or to skim⌋the cistern."
New American Standard Version
Whose collapse is like the smashing of a potter's jar, So ruthlessly shattered That a sherd will not be found among its pieces To take fire from a hearth Or to scoop water from a cistern."
World English Bible
He will break it as a potter's vessel is broken, breaking it in pieces without sparing, so that there won't be found among the broken piece a piece good enough to take fire from the hearth, or to dip up water out of the cistern."
