καὶ ἐβουλεύσατο μετὰ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ ἔστησεν ψαλτῳδοὺς καὶ αἰνοῦντας ἐξομολογεῖσθαι καὶ αἰνεῖν τὰ ἅγια ἐν τῷ ἐξελθεῖν ἔμπροσθεν τῆς δυνάμεως, καὶ ἔλεγον ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ κυρίῳ, ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ.
Berean Study Bible
Then Jehoshaphat consulted with the people and appointed those who would sing to the LORD and praise the splendor of His holiness. As they went out before the army, they were singing: "Give thanks to the LORD, for His loving devotion endures forever."
English Standard Version
And when he had taken counsel with the people he appointed those who were to sing to the Lord and praise him in holy attire as they went before the army and say Give thanks to the Lord for his steadfast love endures forever
Holman Christian Standard Version
Then he consulted with the people and appointed some to sing for the Lord and some to praise the splendor of His holiness. When they went out in front of the armed forces, they kept singing: Give thanks to the Lord for His faithful love endures forever.
King James Version
And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army (8803), and to say (8802), Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
