Builders
Wilson's Dictionary of Bible Types
Psalm 118:22 (a) These were the leaders of the nation of Israel. They were the scribes, the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the Herodians. They refused to have CHRIST as the cornerstone for the life of faith, they despised Him and rejected Him. (See also Matthew 21:42; Mark 12:10; Luke 20:17; Acts 4:11; 1 Peter 2:7).
Ezekiel 27:4 (c) The city fathers planned the building of the city of Tyrus, but did not take GOD into their consideration. They built without the Lord, and the Lord destroyed their works.
1 Corinthians 3:10 (a) Paul was the builder of churches. He did not carelessly organize these churches, he planned them carefully and according to the will of GOD. The word "church" does not refer to a building of wood and stone, but refers rather to the people who constitute the Church of GOD.
Hebrews 11:10 (a) The Lord JESUS said "I will build my church."
He is both the architect and the contractor of this world, and of the next. He designed everything that exists in the universe, and then He made it. Only He has and had the power to do it.
