"a throat" (Eng., "larynx"), is used metaphorically of "speech" in Romans 3:13 .

B — 1: πνίγω

(Strong's #4155 — Verb — pnigo — pnee'-go )

"to choke," is rendered "took ... by the throat" in Matthew 18:28 . See CHOKE , No. 1.
