(Strong's #3646 — Noun Neuter — holokautoma — hol-ok-ow'-to-mah )

denotes "a whole burnt offering" (holos, "whole," kautos, for kaustos, a verbal adjective from kaio, "to burn"), i.e., "a victim," the whole of which is burned, as in Exodus 30:20; Leviticus 5:12; 23:8,25,27 . It is used in Mark 12:33 , by the scribe who questioned the Lord as to the first commandment in the Law, and in Hebrews 10:6,8 , RV, "whole burnt offerings." See OFFERING.
