They answered him, “Allow us to sit at your right and at your left in your glory.”
They said vnto him, Grant vnto vs that wee may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
And they said to him, "Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory."
They said to Him, "Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory."
They answered, "Let one of us sit at your right side and one of us sit at your left side in your glory in your kingdom."
They said to Him, "Grant that we may sit [with You], one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory [Your majesty and splendor in Your kingdom]."
They said to Him, "Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory."
And they said to Him, "Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory."
They answered, "Grant that one of us may sit at Your right hand and the other at Your left in Your glory."
and they answered, "When you come into your glory, please let one of us sit at your right side and the other at your left."
They replied, "When you are in your glory, let us sit with you, one on your right and the other on your left."
And they said to him, Give to us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy glory.
The sons answered, "Let us share the great honor you will have as king. Let one of us sit at your right side and the other at your left."
And they said to him, Graunt vnto vs, that we may sit, one at thy right hand, and the other at thy left hand in thy glory.
They said to him, Grant us to sit, one at your right and one at your left, in your glory.
They answered, "When you sit on your throne in your glorious Kingdom, we want you to let us sit with you, one at your right and one at your left."
So they said to him, "Grant to us that we may sit one at your right hand and one at your left in your glory."
And they said to Him, Give us that we may sit one off the right of You and one off the left of You in Your glory.
And they said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy glory.
And they said to him, Let us be seated, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.

They said to him, "Permit one of us to sit at your right hand and the other at your left in your glory."

They replied, "When you sit on your glorious throne, we want to sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left."
They said to Him, "Let one of us sit by Your right side and the other by Your left side when You receive Your great honor in heaven."
And they said to him, "Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory."
And, they, said unto him - Grant us, that, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left, we may sit, in thy glory.
And they said: Grant to us that we may sit, one on thy right hand and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
And they said to him, "Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory."
They sayd to him: graut vnto vs that we maye sitte one on thy right honde and the other on thy lyfte honde in thy glory.

They sayde vnto him: Graunte vs, that we maye syt one at thy right hande, and one at thy left hande in thy glory.
they replied, when you are in your glory, grant that we may sit, the one on your right hand, and the other on your left.
"Arrange it," they said, "so that we will be awarded the highest places of honor in your glory—one of us at your right, the other at your left."
They looked at each other and continued, "When you take your spot at the head of the ranch, we want to ride on your right and left. You know, up front with you."

grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory; or glorious kingdom, which they expected would be quickly set up; and which they might conclude from his having lately promised to all the twelve, that when he should sit on his throne, they should sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel; and from his having just now mentioned his rising from the dead, which they might understand of some revival, or breaking forth of this glorious state; :-.

And James and John ...came unto him - They did this through the instrumentality of their mother. They did not come in âperson,â but they got their mother to make the request for them. Compare the notes at Matthew 20:20.

Verse 37. In thy glory. — In the kingdom of thy glory-three MSS. Which kingdom they expected to be established on earth.
And be baptized — OR, be baptized. Instead of και and η or, is the reading of BCDL, five others, Coptic, Armenian, later Syriac in the margin, Vulgate, all the Itala, and Origen. Matthew 20:22; Matthew 20:22.
