Psalms 5
Lead Me in Your Righteousness
1 (C1)Give ear to my words, O Yahweh,
Consider my (C2)meditation.
2 Give heed to (C1)the sound of my cry for help, (C2)my King and my God,
For to You I pray.
3 O Yahweh, in the morning, (F1)You will hear my voice;
In the (C1)morning I will order my (F2)prayer to You and eagerly (C2)watch.
4 For You are not a God (C1)who delights in wickedness;
(C2)Evil does not sojourn with You.
5 The (C1)boastful shall not (C2)stand before Your eyes;
You (C3)hate all workers of iniquity.
6 You (C1)destroy those who speak falsehood;
Yahweh abhors (C2)the man of bloodshed and deceit.
7 But as for me, (C1)in the abundance of Your lovingkindness I will enter Your house,
(F1)At Your holy temple I will (C2)worship in (C3)fear of You.
8 O Yahweh, (C1)lead me (C2)in Your righteousness (C3)because of (F1)my foes;
Make Your way (F2)straight before me.
9 There is (C1)nothing (F1)reliable in their mouth;
Their (C2)inward part is destruction itself.
Their (C3)throat is an open grave;
They (F2)flatter with their tongue.
10 Hold them guilty, O God;
(C1)By their own devices let them fall!
In the abundance of their transgressions (C2)thrust them out,
For they are (C3)rebellious against You.
11 But let all who (C1)take refuge in You (C2)be glad,
Let them ever sing for joy;
And (F1)may You (C3)shelter them,
That those who (C4)love Your name may exult in You.
12 For it is You who (C1)blesses the righteous one, O Yahweh,
You (C2)surround him with favor as with a large shield.
