Psalms 4

   |

Yahweh Makes Me Abide in Safety

(FA)For the choir director. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.

1 (C1)Answer me when (C2)I call, O God (F1)of my righteousness!
You have (F2)(C3)relieved me in my distress;
Be (C4)gracious to me and (C5)hear my prayer.

2 O sons of men, how long will (C1)my glory become (C2)a reproach?
How long will you love (C3)what is worthless and seek (C4)falsehood? Selah
may mean Pause, Crescendo, Musical Interlude">(F1)Selah.

3 But know that Yahweh has (F1)(C1)set apart the (C2)holy one for Himself;
Yahweh (C3)hears when I call to Him.

4 (F1)(C1)Tremble, (F2)(C2)and do not sin;
(F3)(C3)Ponder in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

5 Offer (F1)the (C1)sacrifices of righteousness,
And (C2)trust in Yahweh.

6 Many are saying, "(C1)Who will show us good?"
(C2)Lift up the light of Your face upon us, O Yahweh!

7 You have put (C1)gladness in my heart,
More than when their grain and new wine abound.

8 In peace I will (F1)both (C1)lie down and sleep,
For You alone, O Yahweh, make me to (C2)abide in safety.
